Of course the story always begins with JESUS and how one responds when He captures your heart. As for me Debbie, my passion for Jesus led me to become a faith filled Ywammer where part of my time was spent in Cambodia. It was here that God captured my heart again and gave me such a Compassion for these gentle and lovely people, lost in a world without Christ. When my season of serving with Ywam ended I remained on in Cambodia waiting for the Lords leading as to how, when and where He wanted me to serve Him and his people. My future began to unfold after I married and the unpredictable experience of rescuing a mentally deranged naked lady who was roaming the streets of Siem Reap. This was a situation and scenario that obviously everyone found too difficult to handle and so had avoided her and passed her by, as you can imagine. GOD of course had compassion for this poor soul and through a friend we became involved in finding out to whom she belonged and where she had come from. Romans 11:33 From this encounter we found her home, her family and her village which has now become the centre of our ministry and mission. With this commenced the complexity of cultural procedures and tiers of structural patriarchal procedures to become accepted and integrated into their community to be able to share and practically demonstrate the LOVE that God has for them. What can one say......Is it a big challenge ? or is it just the continuance of a "faith walk" with God. Maybe it's a combination of both but we prefer the latter as it unveils the greatness and goodness of God.
